Dance Team

The Dance Team is for students ages 10-18 who wish to commit additional time and energy towards weekend rehearsals and performance opportunities. Dance Team members are required to take a minimum of two technique classes per week during the 2024-25 school year in addition to attending Saturday rehearsals. Students are also required to enroll in at least one Dance Team dance, though they may choose to participate in up to 3 dances each year.

The Fall 2024 Dance Team season runs from Saturday, September 7, 2024 through Saturday, December 7, 2024 with several Spring rehearsals and performances to be determined. All Saturday rehearsals are mandatory.

SUMMER IS THE PERFECT TIME TO JOIN DANCE TEAM!

Our Dance Team Kick Off camps offer dancers the chance to jump right in to class and rehearsals, while prepping for performances in September 2025. By signing up for this camp your dancer is committing to join Dance Team for the 2025-26 season/school year and attend Dance Team Tryouts on Saturday, May 10, 2025, Saturday, June 21, 2025 or Saturday, August 23, 2025. Tryouts are mandatory to be a member of Dance Team and for camp participation. All students who attend Tryouts will be placed on a sub team for the upcoming season. More information regarding Tryouts will be shared once you have registered for camp.

The 2025 Dance Team Kick Off Camp will be held on Monday, August 18, through Friday, August 22 from 3:45pm-8:00pm. Check back soon for registration options!

DANCE TEAM TRYOUTS

Tryouts are mandatory for Dance Team participation. Tryouts are for the purpose of placing dancers into correlating teams that will enhance the overall experience of the Dance Team, as well as for the growth of our students and program. We will be holding Dance Team Tryouts at the Friendship Heights studio on Saturday, May 10, June 21, and August 23, 2025.

Tenleytown Art All Night: Dance Team represents CityDance Studios at this annual Northwest DC community event in September 2025.

Wheaton Arts Festival: Dance Team showcases their three summer pieces at the annual Festival in Wheaton.

Winter Preview: Dance Team members show off what they’ve learned in an in-studio showing for family and friends in winter 2025.

Washington Wizards Pre Game Show: Dance Team performs on the court at a Washington Wizards home game at Capital One Arena in Washington DC.

Flower Mart: Dance Team performs outside at the National Cathedral’s largest annual fundraiser in spring 2025.

Spring Recital: All Dance Team pieces are performed during CityDance Studios Annual Spring Recital in June 2025.
