Spring Recital

CityDance Studios offers the opportunity for all beginner, advanced beginner, and intermediate adults to participate in our annual Spring Recital. During the Spring Session (March to June), students will have the opportunity to participate in a rehearsal session where they will learn a piece of choreography to be performed on stage at the end of the year.

When & where is the Recital?

This year, adult students will perform along side our youth students in our Spring Recital in one show on either Friday, June 6, Saturday, June 7, or Sunday, June 8, 2025 at the UDC Theater of the Arts, 4200 Connecticut Ave NW Washington DC 20008.

How do I participate?

Students who wish to participate must enroll in a Rehearsal Session in addition to their weekly class enrollment. The rehearsal session contains approximately 6 outside rehearsals in which students will learn a piece of choreography. The session price covers the costs associated with costumes, choreographer fees, and rehearsals.

Why do I need to take a weekly class?

Rehearsal Sessions differ from weekly classes in that they are solely choreography-focused, while weekly classes focus on building and maintaining strength and technique. Taking a weekly class along with a Rehearsal Session ensures students are maintaining a level of technique to prevent injury and successfully execute the choreography on stage in June.

What else do I need to know?

Participating students must be enrolled in at least one weekly technique class for the Spring Session and will also need to commit to a technical rehearsal. Pending show order, technical rehearsal will take place the week of June 2, 2025. Students will be scheduled for one 45 minute block between 6:00pm and 8:00pm. This will be students’ only time to rehearse on stage before the performance.

What if I miss a rehearsal?

Attending rehearsals is crucial in your success onstage. Students who miss a rehearsal may be taken out of sections of the dance and/or may not be in the full piece at the choreographers discretion. Due to the unique nature of the Rehearsal Sessions, refunds and/or make-ups are not offered.
