The ‘class of 2024’ performed in their final end-of-year CityDance Conservatory Concert on June 1st, and clearly demonstrated that CityDance Conservatory continues to provide excellent training in all genres of dance. An eclectic mix of ballet, contemporary, and hip-hop pieces entertained a full house of families and friends in a two-hour concert in our CityDance Studio Theater at Strathmore.
The afternoon performance opened with Executive Director Rachel DiLeo introducing Alicia Canterna, one of our interim Artistic Associates, and Ballet Master Stanislav Issaev who praised the achievements of our senior students, making special mention of Simon Tischler, who received seventeen offers of scholarships! Tischler chose The John Cranko School in Stuttgart, Germany, where he will continue his dance education this fall.
The final bow was bittersweet, as the Seniors received an enthusiastic round of applause and final class photo, after which they hugged each other and their families. Congratulations and best wishes to Sophia Blucker, Ingrid Boshoff, Ellie Bottio, Avery Brown, Sage Bryant, Stephanie Dragoi, Gabriela Eisele, Mackenzie Eisele, Zoe Ferguson, Ariela Koffler, Melo Ludwig, Sylar Mason, Ella Montano, Amelia Otte, Abigail Riley, Skye Sibrian, Jaina Simon, Naomi Taylor, and special mention to Simon Tischler, as they dance into the future! Well done!
