Department Volunteers

Any amount of your talent and time is welcomed and appreciated! Volunteers interested in long-term service or specific one-day projects are of great value to CityDance.

The following volunteer opportunities are available at our various locations.

Administrative Office/Downtown Washington, DC                          

• Marketing Department: assembling marketing and press materials, entering data into CityDance database, assisting with mailings, welcoming guests and distributing materials at performances.
• Development Department: assembling development packets for donors, mailing promotional materials, preparing documents for board meetings, acknowledging gifts, assembling grant materials, and entering donor data into CityDance database.
• Operations Department: assisting in general office administration and maintaining facilities, storage, and costumes.

CityDance Center at Strathmore/N. Bethesda, MD

• School Administration: providing customer service, answering calls, and assisting in overall front desk administration and organization.

Site Specific

• Outreach Department: supporting Program Managers in CityDance’s after-school dance programs with administrative tasks.
• Production Department: acting as a backstage runner, assisting in costume changes, coordinating props, setting up risers, and providing lighting and equipment assistance.

Special Events

• Events Department: preparing, setting up, or hosting CityDance special events, (i.e. VIP receptions, special studio visits, etc.)
