Giselle Alvarez, of Miami, FL, joined CityDance Ensemble in May 2008. She began dancing at Ballet Concerto Studios and then studied at Miami City Ballet School with her mentor Nancy Raffa. At the age of 15, Giselle began to dance with the company, gaining professional experience in many Balanchine ballets. In 2004, she moved to Raleigh, NC dancing for the Carolina Ballet. There she performed new works with Timor Bortesenkov and Lynn Taylor Corbett. In April 2006, Giselle relocated to the DC area, as a Studio Company member of The Washington Ballet. During her tenure there, she had the opportunity to perform works by Trey McIntyre, Jared Nelson, Jessica Lamb, Steven Pertonio, and Mathew Neenan.
Bruno
Augusto began dancing at the age of five in his native
country of Angola. He entered the National School of the Arts
in Cuba in 1991 and later performed with Danza Contemporanea
de Cuba. He returned to Angola in 1997 and toured to Africa and
Europe with Companhia de Dança Contemporanea de Luanda.
In 1998, Bruno came to the United States and performed with Kathy
Harty Gray Dance Theatre, Tony Powell/Music and Movement, and
Rincones & Co. Dance Theater. Bruno attended Towson
University on full scholarship and obtained his B.F.A. in dance
performance in 2003. In September of 2008 he will enroll at New York University for his M.F.A. in dance.(top) 
Alicia
Canterna is a graduate of the Kirov Academy of Ballet
in Washington, DC. She is a native of Illinois and, before relocating
to Washington, studied ballet at the St. Louis Ballet Center
in Missouri were she later went on to dance with the St. Louis
Ballet. Alicia currently dances with CityDance Ensemble and American
Dance Artists, a company of nationally and internationally acclaimed
young dancers. Alicia has coached many dancers for national competitions
such as Dance Masters of America, New York City Dance Alliance,
and Youth America Grand Prix. Along with her artistic career,
Alicia is currently working on her Pilates certification. (top)

Jason Garcia Ignacio began
his dance training at the age of 12 in Manila, Philippines. He trained
at Ballet Philippines, Philippine Ballet Theater, Steps Dance Studio,
and was a member of Earth Savers Dreams Ensemble with whom he toured
and performed internationally for five years. In 2001, Jason continued
his dance training in New York City with a scholarship at Ballet Hispanico,
where he also served on the faculty as a teacher. He was a fellowship
student at The Ailey School and toured nationally with the Martha
Graham Ensemble, performing in such pieces as El
Penitente (The
Penitent), Diversions of Angels (Yellow Man), Lamentation and Adoration.
He has performed with the Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company, Diversity
of Dance, Cortez and Co., Connecticut Ballet, Zig-Zag Ballet, American
Repertory Ballet, Verb Ballets, and was an apprentice for Bill
T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company. He has also performed in Andrew
Lloyd Webber's Cats as
Mistoffolees at Carousel Dinner Theater, Maine State Music Theater,
and West Virginia Public Theater. (top)

Jerome
Johnson began his dance training at age nine at the
North Carolina School of the Arts. After graduating as a prominent
classical ballet dancer, Johnson moved to New York and was given
the opportunity to dance at the School of American Ballet. He
has trained under the tutelage of the some of the dance world's
most renowned dancers such as Melissa Hayden and Duncan Noble.
Other reputable instructors include Peter Boal, Brantley Shapiro,
Nina Danilova, Jock Soto, Gyula Pandi, Gina Vidal, and Brenda
Daniels. Jerome was accepted into the New York City Ballet as
an apprentice in Fall 2001 and became a full company member in
Spring 2002. He has performed in works by contemporary choreographers
such as Twyla Tharp and Chris d'Amboise. Jerome is the recipient
of many prestigious awards, including the Princess Grace Award
and Prix de Lausanne Top 15 Finalist. He was also the 2001 National
Foundation for the Advancement in the Arts Awardee. (top)
Delphina
Rose Parenti grew
up in a dancing family and performed theater dance and tap with her
parents in their family shows. She spent her junior and senior
years of high school training in ballet at the North
Carolina School of the Arts where she performed in Balanchine
and Petipa ballets. Newly graduated from The Juilliard School
under the direction of Lawrence Rhodes, Delphina performed in
works of many distinguished choreographers including Elliot Feld,
Twyla Tharp, Ohad Naharin, William Forsythe, Susan Marshall,
and Aszure Barton. She has participated twice in The Professional
Project in Montreal, and in July she performed with Pam Tanowitz
Dance at Joyce Soho in New York. (top)
Kathryn Pilkington is from North Carolina and received her early training from her mentor Sandra Miller. She then went to The Juilliard School where she danced works by Anthony Tudor, Ohad Naharin, Martha Graham, Jiri Kylian, Robert Battle, Zvi Gotheiner, and Lar Lubovitch. Graduating with a B.F.A. in 2004, she became a dancer and rehearsal assistant for Contemporary Dance Theater of NY, under the direction of Jennifer Kries, and Sensedance, under the direction of Henning Rubsam. She was also an ensemble member of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. She is a member of DC's DanceSmith and has danced in projects in the area with Francesca Jandasek and Sharna Fabiano. (top)
Alice
Wylie is originally from Maryland and began her dance
training there
while participating in several summer workshops including Boston
Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, and the Kennedy Center's Exploring Ballet
with Suzanne Farrell program. Since that time she has trained
extensively with Dawei Zhang, Violette Verdy, and Truman Finney.
She graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Ballet
and French from Indiana University. She has danced
with Ballet Austin, Kim Robards Dance, DanceSmith, and is currently
in her fifth season with CityDance Ensemble with whom she has toured
internationally. Alice is a certified Vinyasa yoga instructor and
teaches dance throughout the DC area. (top)
