An evening of dance centered around America’s great
songwriters, including Sophie
Maslow’s Folksay* inspired by the music
of Woody Guthrie; Jane Dudley’s Harmonica
Breakdown set to the music of Sonny Terry; and Paul
Gordon Emerson’s Born to Run performed
to the iconic songs of Bruce Springsteen.
Completing the program is ODC/San Francisco Artistic Director Brenda Way's On a Train Heading South, a vigorous piece that bravely tackles global warming.
NEW! Just added to the program is a new dance featuring live musical accompaniment by the celebrated and enormosly talented harmonicist Frederic Yonnet and pianist Vince Evans. With choreography by Paul Gordon Emerson and dancers Bruno Augusto and Kathryn Pilkington, this dance and music collaboration is not to be missed.
